This edifice was built about 80 years ago upon the order of Ahmad Qavam (Qavam-os-Saltaneh) as his private residence. Standing in a garden covering 7,000 sq. m, it was sold to the Egyptian Embassy. Later on, it was bought by the Bank-e Bazargani (Bank of Commerce). It was turned into a museum in 1976 and since 1980 has been open to visitors.
This octagonal two-storey building consists of simulated columns on its entrance and a vast basement floor. On the exterior facade bricks have been utilized in various patterns, decorated with geometric and floral motifs recalling the fine brickwork style of the Seljuq period.
