Mellat (People) Palace Museum
This edifice, previously known as the white palace, is also located in the Sa’ad Abad complex and dates back to the reign of Reza Shah. He intended to use it as his Imperial Court, but, finding it majestic indeed, preferred to make it his residence. Later it was used as both his and his son’s Ceremonial Palace, and in 1982, it was transformed into a museum.
The construction of this palace was begun in 1931, and completed for habitation in 1939. It is a three-storey structure comprising 54 rooms. On the exterior, the architecture of this palace follows a German style. Inside the building, fine decorations composed of Russian, Byzantine and Iranian styles can be admired.
